Well, are you coming? Aspen Crossing Railway is proud to announce, THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride! First in Alberta, 2nd location in all of Canada!
Starting November 28th, you and your family can now make the magical journey to the North Pole!
Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™. Once onboard, hot chocolate and treats are served as passengers read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers greet passengers at the North Pole and then board the train, where each child is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. Chefs aboard each car lead passengers in singing Christmas carols on the ride back to Aspen Crossing.
This is the latest addition to Aspen Crossing located just 39 miles southeast of Calgary.
Since Spring 2015, Aspen Crossing began offering seven other themed train tour excursions. The average tour consists of 3+ hours, travelling through the scenic prairie landscape. Most tours include a train robbery. The Circus Train was a huge hit for all ages! While some tours have concluded for the Fall season, there are still a few more to choose from including a Thanksgiving Harvest Train Tour.
Come see the diversity that is Aspen Crossing, now celebrating its 11th year with something really special!
Aspen Crossing has been known for their 85 site campground and 1887 Pullman dining car that once belonged to John Diefenbaker. The dining car would make the perfect place to have that special celebration. Only a short drive from Calgary, it’s easy enough to take a scenic drive out for dinner, but if you prefer not to make the drive back, you might consider staying in one of their beautifully converted train-caboose cabins.
If you can’t find the right something for that special someone, the gift shop is set to inspire and wow any discerning shopper. And of course, as history has shown us, no Train Station would be complete without a greenhouse, proving that horticulture and the rail stations played a huge part in our prairie history!
