The Kingston Prize Exhibition

Fri Nov 1 - Sat Jan 25

The Kingston Prize is a national portrait competition for portraits of Canadians by Canadian artists. From the 431 entries received in 2013, the jury selected thirty finalists to be included in the exhibition, and will choose the winner of The Kingston Prize of $20,000, sponsored by the W. Garfield Weston Foundation, and two Honourable Mentions who receive $2,000 each.

Founded in 2005 by Julian and Kaaren Brown of Kingston, ON, the competition is held every two years, and has toured to various cities across Canada.

A People’s Choice Prize of $1,000 is awarded at each exhibition location, based upon ballots submitted by visitors to the exhibition; in Calgary, this Prize is sponsored by Galleries West magazine.
