From One Country to Another
Choreography: Lee Su-Feh
Dancer: Davida Monk

Lee Su-Feh’s title work From One Country to Another, performed by Monk, opens the show. This solo study of landscape, made specifically by Lee for Monk as part of their long-standing creative relationship, incorporates the prairies, the poetry of Mary Oliver, and the music of Allan Gordon Bell.

Choreography: Davida Monk
Dancers: Helen Husak and Walter Kubanek
Musician/Composer: Bill Horist (Seattle)

Inspired by the netsuke art of Japan – miniature sculptures of exquisite detail – Monk and the dancers find the motion in these creatures and characters. “The specificity of the captured moment is so expressive that it drives my own imagination to new places,” says Monk.
